West Beach
Located on the west side of the island, the "West Beach" neighborhood is a loose term. It spans from Libby Rd in Coupeville to where Swantown Rd runs into West Beach Rd on the north end in Oak Harbor. Essentially, it's the sandwich between Ft Ebey State Park and Joseph Whidbey State Park.
It is a mix of high and low bank properties. There is good and bad to both, so if you do decide that purchasing a waterfront home is important to you, make sure your Real Estate Agent is very familiar with beach front properties, and more specifically beach front on the west side.
The 3 main beach access spots are Sunset Beach, Hastie Lake, and Libbey Rd. Each beach is unique, but they all share the same amazing sunset views.
From the west side, it is a straight shot out the sound to the open ocean, meaning nothing blocks the wind. You get the full force blowing right at you, which makes for some pretty stormy days. However, nothing beats the westward sunset views.
