I’m excited to share a couple of new Whidbey Island businesses in this Local Lift, as well a few staples that we can continue to support! This ongoing Local Lift series is designed to help boost local businesses, and in addition to featuring each Whidbey Island business in this blog post, I’ve been purchasing gift cards to businesses and giving them away to the community. The Mill At The Kasteel
It’s always exciting to have a new Whidbey Island restaurant to check out!
The Mill At The Kasteel just opened up in Oak Harbor, and they’re serving up a hearty menu filled with Mexican-American cuisine. According to their website, “We specialize in blending traditional foods and flavors with a Mexican influence,” and there’s something delicious on the menu to keep everyone in your party happy!
They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and their menu includes sandwiches, fresh salads, soups, surf ‘n’ turf, pasta, pancakes, waffles, omelets, and much much more. The Mexican cuisine portion of their menu features favorites like enchiladas, burritos, chimichangas, carne asada, tacos, etc.! (Hungry yet?!)

Jill’s Barbershop
Nestled in the heart of Oak Harbor, Jill’s Barbershop is the perfect place to drop into if you need a snazzy new haircut or a smart, straight razor shave! Thanks to the convenient location you can fit in a stop here as you’re out running errands or enjoying what Downtown Oak Harbor has to offer.

Wicked Teuton Brewing Company and Homebrew Supply
This popular local brewing company is a Whidbey Island staple! Wicked Teuton in Oak Harbor offers a selection of award-winning craft beers, and they also have craft sodas and locally sourced ciders and wines available. They’re always changing up what’s on tap, so be sure to follow Wicked Teuton on Facebook and Instagram so you’re always in the know as to what’s available. They’re currently open for seating, so if you need to get out of the house this fall, stop by for a crisp and cool brew.

PNW Vibes Market in Oak Harbor is open just in time for the holiday season!
Located in The Loft on Fidalgo & Dock (the same building that the Whidbey Island Bagel Factory is in), PNW Vibes Market has all kinds of unique and locally made goodies to enjoy. Discover PNW-inspired hats and other accessories, handmade goat’s milk soap, gorgeous cutting boards, cheeky sign decor, candles, jewelry, and so much more!

Currents Bistro
Located in Coupeville and a proud member of “Whidbey Island Grown,” Currents Bistro serves up “fresh, creative, Northwest cuisine and a variety of local wines.”
If you’re craving seafood and hearty American classics, Currents Bistro’s menu is sure to delight. Their menu features favorites like clam chowder, salads, Penn Cove Mussels, pastas, sandwiches, Angus burgers, fish and chips, fish tacos, and much, much more.
