Local Lift: Island Pet Center, Oak Harbor Cinema, & Esteban's Mexican Restaurant GIVEAWAY

Local Lift is an ongoing series that I started at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to try and give small businesses a “boost.” The Whidbey Island community is filled with wonderful small and independently owned businesses, and many of these businesses had to face huge challenges as a result of the pandemic.
With each Local Lift, I purchase gift cards to giveaway to the community along with featuring each business. Take a moment to learn more about why each of these Oak Harbor businesses are so special, give them a follow on social media, and share them with your friends!

Island Pet Center
Located at 1381 SW Barlow St Oak Harbor, WA 98277, Island Pet Center on Whidbey Island is family-owned, full line pet store that was established back in 1977. Here you’ll find a huge variety of products for dogs and cats, fresh and saltwater fish and supplies, and even reptiles and small animals. It’s a super fun spot to stop by whether you need supplies or not—just checking out all of the neat supplies and creatures is worth the visit alone! Browse the aquarium section to get inspiration for your own at home aquarium, and see what the frogs, bearded dragons, geckos, and snakes are up to in the reptile section.

Oak Harbor Cinema
If you haven’t been to Oak Harbor Cinema in awhile, then you should know that they completed a major renovated of the space just over a year ago! Oak Harbor Cinema is a great local spot where you can watch the latest movies. For example, right now they’re playing “Fantastic Beast: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” and “The Bad Guys.” Films change week to week, so make sure to follow Oak Harbor Cinema on Facebook and Instagram for the latest schedule. There’s even a cine-bar where you can purchase beer, wine, snacks, and more.
Also! On Tuesdays, all movies are just $5, and you can also upgrade your seat to a VIP motorized recliner for $5 any day!
Esteban's Mexican Restaurant
Esteban’s in Oak Harbor is a family-owned and family-friendly restaurant that’s a local favorite for a reason. When you’re dining out here, you can expect to find tons of classic dishes on their menu, with everything from enchiladas and carne asada to a delicious selection of drinks! In addition to being known for their huge portions (just check out all of the amazing food pics here!), Esteban’s is also a favorite due to their excellent service.
