Orlando’s Bar & Southern BBQ
Orlando’s in Oak Harbor is a popular local hangout, bar, and restaurant, and whether you’re stopping by for takeout or you plan to stay awhile to enjoy live entertainment, you won’t be disappointed! First and foremost, Orlando’s has a tantalizing menu filled with BBQ classics. Angus beef brisket, Southern fried catfish, Cajun friend catfish, pulled pork, several different types of wings, deep fried biscuits, fried okra, hush puppies, collard greens, and much, much more make up Orlando’s mouthwatering selection of eats. Orlando’s also serves up an extensive selection of spirits (there’s a rather extensive Whiskey Bar to indulge in!) and beer.
Orlando’s started back in 2013 with just 2 cast iron pots and a tent at events and farmers markets on Whidbey Island. Over the years, Orlando’s morphed into what it is today—a restaurant in a 10,000-square-foot space with a huge menu and locals who rave over the food! Mai Thai Restaurant
Mai Thai Restaurant on Midway in Oak Harbor just recently opened, and they’re already getting rave reviews! Mai Thai has a large selection of Thai favorites, but you’ll also find Chinese cuisine and other popular Asian dishes on the menu as well. Phad Thai, Phad See Ew, Drunken Noodle, several different types of curries, Thai Fried Rice, spring rolls and more are all available, plus other favorites like meats with classic flavors including Kung Pao, Orange Orange, Sweet and Sour. You can customize most dishes with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, or double meat, or make your meal vegetarian with mixed veggies or tofu. Take a look at photos of the menu and the restaurant here!
Oak Harbor Cinemas
Oak Harbor Cinemas on Whidbey Island completed a major renovation this past year or so, so if it’s been awhile since you’ve seen a movie here, it’s time to head back and check it out! Oak Harbor Cinemas shows the latest movies on the big screen, right now they’re playing “Free Guy,” “Candyman,” and “The Protégé,” but check back here for updates on their latest movies + screening times. You also have the option to book standard rocker seats, OR you can upgrade to VIP Luxury Recliners. And of course, there are tons of snacks and beverages to order before you head into the theater!
