Local Lift: Toppins Frozen Yogurt, Skagit Farmers Supply, & Pita Pit GIVEAWAY

This week’s Local Lift features a few businesses that are perfect to visit during spring! As we get more and more sunny, warm days here on Whidbey Island, you can enjoy sweet treats from Toppins Frozen Yogurt more often, or pick up takeout from places like Pita Pit for picnics at your favorite park. And of course, if you have a garden or a yard that needs some refreshing after winter, Skagit Farmers Supply has everything you need!

This Local Lift feature was started one year ago at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. With each Local Lift my intention is to offer a “small business boost”—I purchase gift cards to local businesses to give away to the community, and spotlight each business at the same time. Thanks for stopping by to check out the latest giveaway!

This week’s giveaway includes:

  • Three $20 gift cards to Toppins Frozen Yogurt

  • Two $50 cards to Skagit Farmer Supply

  • Two $20 cards to Pita Pit

Winners will be drawn at random. To enter, head on over to this Facebook post and follow the instructions. (All you have to do is leave a comment on the linked Facebook post to enter!) Deadline for giveaway entries is 5pm PST on Thursday, April 1.

Toppins Frozen Yogurt

Located in Oak Harbor, Toppins Frozen Yogurt is our local go-to for froyo and sorbet! They are called “Toppins” with good reason—they’ve got a HUGE, seriously impressive selection of 85+ toppings to choose from! If you have a sweet tooth, you can load your froyo up with candy (crushed Bufterfinger, chocolate chips, gummy bears, gummy worms, skittles, sprinklers, and much, much more), nuts, sauces, and a large selection of fresh fruit (including bananas, blackberries, blueberries, kiwi, mango, etc.). There is something for everyone and you never have to have the same creation twice!

Toppins Frozen Yogurt on Whidbey Island has online ordering available, but they’re also open for dine in now. You can check out their online menu here, follow them on Facebook for updates (like their latest flavor line ups!). Skagit Farmers Supply

Whidbey Island is fortunate to have two Skagit Farmer Supply store locations—one in Oak Harbor, and one in Freeland. They sell an incredible variety of products, really making this your one-stop shop for almost anything you might need related to farming, gardening, pets, and this is just skimming the surface. If you’re working on sprucing up your yard or garden right now for spring and summer, make a list of what you need and head to Skagit Farmers Supply!

This important local business also does a great deal to support communities. They offer scholarships to students and donate to local food banks, fire relief, human societies, and more.

For updates on store open dates/times, events, tips and advice, info on new products and more, follow Country Store on Facebook and Instagram.

Pita Pit

Pita Pit in Oak Harbor is a great spot to grab a quick yet healthy meal when you’re on the go or don’t feel like cooking! Pita Pit has several classic and artisan pita combos you can order, but they also have a fantastic “built your own” pita option as well. Their large variety of pita fillings ensures you never have to order the same thing twice! Start by choosing a white pita, wheat pita, a gluten-free wrap, or even a salad, then choose proteins, toppings (like avocado, pineapple, black olives, banana peppers, hummus, roasted red peppers, pickles, and much more), then top it off with cheese and your choice of sauce or dressing (there are over 20 to choose from!).
